The Gunnison Sept. 4,5 event was cancelled due to lack of sign-ups.  A few folks indicated that they were planning to attend so we held a miniseed with Al Smith as shoot boss, and Cowboy as line boss.

Four folks attended for the entire day.  Two families brought their kids out for part of the day to see our safety program.  The day was sunny and warm, and Windy.  Dehydration loomed and wore folks out.

The standard POI was addressed including the safety briefing, purpose of the Appleseed Project, the making of a safe rifle, the six steps to firing a shot, steady hold factors for each of the firing position, Natural Point of Aim, talking targets, Ball and Dummy and rifleman's cadence.

During lunch we got Cowboy did a job on the first Strike, Al smith followed with the second and third strike.  Emphasis was put on dispelling the Myths of a single alarm rider raising the rabble to fight government over a TEA TAX.
We detailed the extensive preparations of the committees of safety and correspondence,  the efforts of the towns to fund acquisition of supplies and training for their militia for their own and their neighbors defence.

We pointed out the leadership of the militia that directed the colonists to put into effect a plan that routed the Kings Troops in a manner that left no doubt that a properly trained and equipped force of citizens fighting for the right to govern themselves and defend their homes is superior to hired guns enforcing the edicts of a  despotic King.

We ended the day with a benediction that encouraged the attendees to attend a proper AS, practice their skills,  and GET INVOLVED locally and nationally so that they might exercise their third option--Voting for leaders that promised to look out for their interests.
