I'd of never thought Breitbart would have given their thoughts on this goal we all share.....hmmm....what does that mean to each of we here?

THANK YOU!, Mr. Breitbart and Mr. Huston..........We truly are who we state we are here at RWVA.

It's a good rebuttal to a poorly written article.  Of course, some will view this response as validation of their preconceived notion that Appleseed is part and parcel of the Tea Party, never mind that it started years before there was a Tea Party or anything... can't let those pesky facts interfere with a good rant, no sirree...   %)

We should offer an invite to Mr. Hutson to find out more about the program.

A quick click on his Bio link shows he is a Chicago Based writer.

Perhaps he would be interested in attending the Waterman 300?

He makes an interesting point... but Alex Kozinski made it better back in 2003.

Unhappy it is ... to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast, and that the once happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

I was e-mailed this article a few days ago. Word of this has spread beyond people that really knew anything of Appleseed, but do now. The NYT article has done nothing but good. LOL. People see right through the NYT article and realize now, we must be a viable organization for thenm to speak of us in such a way.

A friend and I attended a function where Breitbart was a featured guest .
He spoke of a media which disregards nearly 50% of the population not making the best financial choices  ;D The cheering ,whisles and applause at this statement was deafening ;D

Some media were present at this event and an interesting aspect was they showed no ID or logo  :o . Not sure what it means ,but it means something  #)

The chairman of a political party was the subject of boo ing when he mentioned reading about victory Nov3, in a prominate, partisan, political hack Los Angeles "anti rights" newspaper. It was the mention of this newspaper that prompted the spontanious  outburst  ;D

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

QuoteJack Dailey's firearms training camps

How do we get this moniker? At most events the words "firearm" and "training" are never used - Florida instructors are absolutely hammered on this point. And yet, even from allies we still get these sort of labels???

I feel confident that no hard is meant, but it is such a poor description of what we do. We are a "non-profit educational org that teaches the true story of April 19th, 1775 and rifle marksmanship - a traditional skill of the Founders, in weekend clinics all over America".

Now is that so hard to get?  :wb:

It is a great article written by a reasonable person, thoughtfully delineating the bias of the NYT article and for that I am grateful.  O0

It is a mark of the times.  Media is taking off their badges as they are finding what once brought them access now hinders access.  We very much need to understand this at every shoot.  They will come without warning and without our knowledge sooner or later.  We must be careful and clean at every event.

And that is not even taking into account those who are pros at making scenes, recording them, and putting the results on youtube.  Every blogger is a journalist and these days the journalists wish they could get as much attention as the bloggers.  :o

We will see if all the attention dies off post elections, but whether it does or not, we have to be on every time and avoid that temptation to say "just one more thing".   ;D

Oh, and recently a large metro paper contacted me and I called them back assuming it was another "come to a shoot and write whatever we were going to anyways" deal.  Nope!  This time it was, "Since you have gotten so big, surely you want to start buying ad space with us!"

Guess they saw the bulletin boards and assumed we are no longer small game to be interested in but are big game and worth billing.

Another growth bump.  :D
