At the May RBC in Ramseur I remember 7.62BBQ telling the "new guys" that he keeps a copy of "the guide" in the bathroom as a source of reading material for the trips to that room.  If you've got a copy you should be reading it.  If you don't have a copy - Why not??

Here's a question, right out of "the guide":

If your sighter shot at 300 yds. is 8" low and 5" right you should move your M1A rear sight:
a.  3 clicks up and 2 clicks left
b.  5 clicks up and 3 clicks right
c.  9 clicks up and 6 clicks left
d.  any of the above
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

IMC
8" = 2.66MOA at 300 yards = 3 clicks up assuming 1 MOA click
5" = 1.66 MOA at 300 yards = 2 clicks left

Answer 'A'

Criticism is the only known antidote to error.  David Brin

What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

hawkhaven,
I must admit, you're right. I gave my answer without actually thinking. The alzheimer's must be kicking in again.

The Guy

 ;D

"Kicking the mind from afar" is going to be my new motto!

Yeah, I know that feeling. Guy has kicked me too. He's definitely a character (ment in a nice way). But it got me to rereading Fred's Guide again. Thanks Guy.

Being a quiz out of the guide it also gives the answer.  If you know your stuff you don't need to look at the answers box.

Hawkhavn is correct.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own.
