RWVA's Appleseed Tour
Comes to Lemoore, CA
August 28-29, 2010

Who we are and what we're about: The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from being a simple rifle owner to being a true rifleman. All throughout American history, the rifleman has been defined as a marksman capable of hitting a man-sized targets from 500 yards away -- no ifs, ands or buts about it. This 500-yard range is traditionally known as "the rifleman's quarter-mile;" a rifleman can hit just about any target he can see. This skill was particularly evident in the birth of our country, and was the difference in winning the Revolutionary War. What You Will Learn?
"Six Steps To Firing A Shot":
1. Sight Alignment
2. Sight Picture
3. Respiratory pause
4. a. Focus your eye on the front sight
4. b. Focus your mind on keeping the front sight on the target
5. Squeeze the trigger
6. Follow through
We will also cover sling usage, sight adjustment, Inches, Minutes, Clicks, and the Heritage and beginning of the American Rifleman.

State Laws to be aware of: http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/
*No detachable box magazines may be brought into state with capacity exceeding ten rounds.  Unless you owned them prior to Jan1, 2000; then it's OK. All Tubular-magazine 22s are OK.
*"Assault weapons" ban- If you're registered with CA DOJ already, you're fine and can shoot your AK, AR15, G3 etc. with no problem.  Might want to Xerox the DOJ document and keep it in the rifle case.   Out of state shooters, don't bring military-pattern semiautomatics as they're almost sure to fall under the "assault weapon" ban.  M1 Garand and most 10-shot fixed-magazine SKS.are OK, however.  (Having said all that about "assault rifles", there is provision in state law for out-of-state shooters to bring "assault rifles" to CA shooting events; anybody wants to try that out might want to read the statute for themselves and consult a lawyer-welcome to California.)

Ammunition: Don't bring tracer into CA

Transporting firearms: Transport rifles and pistols unloaded.  Pistols and "assault rifles" go in padlocked containers.  Car trunk is considered a locked container, but glove compartment, even if it locks, is not OK. Ammunition and firearms may not be carried in the same container.

Misc:  It is 25 meter shooting, so bring your Centerfire rifles or 22s out and gain valuable marksmanship skills.  35 spots available.
We're surrounded...that simplfies the problem.

"Our Country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any AMERICA because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race!"
