I know one of the goals of Appleseed is to have people running for office and being elsected to office that have been to an Appleseed. Well this is happening here in Indiana. We have a Appleseeder that is running for state senate.
Can you (of course you can) imagine if a large portion of our elected officials (either side of course) had of attended an Appleseed and heard the story, seen the Americans with their families out learning of patriotism and what our founding fathers sacrificed for our freedoms. I would have the confidence that they would at least think before voting yea or nea.
If I get the ok I will put the info here as I know here at Appleseed we are non political. I just thought that some of you would want to know that it is working.

A short non endorsing announcement would be just that. A statement of a fact in current news. People could read it and decide on their own if it is something they wanted to check into.
Of course, the thread could get locked and thousands of site visitors would only be able to read it and click on the link to the said candidates web page.

    Yes, this is indeed newsworthy. Another Appleseed prediction coming true. Absolutely, let's post it, as an example of the program's success in motivating average Americans to waking up (hope this guy is not a professional politician, as the last would not apply - on the other hand, the 'news' then would be even a professional politician can be influenced by the program).

    I can see this guy on AS radio, being interviewed.

    How about an assessment of this guy's relationship to AS - t'would be nice if he stuck it out to Rifleman...

    Would also be nice if he not only heard the story, but has admitted to being influenced by it to the extent references to it appear in his speeches/literature.

I am not sure if he is a Rifleman or not but his wife is. He attended the largest Appleseed to date here in Evansville. The few times I have spoke to him he has been very supportive of the program and its influence it has on people. He is not a career politician, but he has been very active in Indiana gun rights and was instrumental in getting the Indiana Lifetime licence to carry law.
He may have been on the radio program, I still cannot listen to it. :'(

Having elected officials who are part of Appleseed is, I beleive, one of our goals.  I would love to see "Fred" or "Scout" do this in their states. I'm looking forward to the day when we have one in Louisiana ready to run.

Don't wait for Appleseed to "produce a candidate"

Invite candidates, personally, in writing(not email form letter).
