The Machine

Jmdavis posted this in another location on the forum, but here it is again in case you missed it: http://wvgazette.com/News/201009040509  Jmdavis did a very good job of handling the reporter's questions; everyone not used to interacting with the media about AS matters should take note of what was said.

A personal "thank you" to the reporter and all the students and staff who participated in the article. I'm sure our program in WV will be receiving more media attention in the future, and the Charleston Gazette has started things on a positive note.  :)

"I proudly support limited government and unlimited common sense"

"One of the great advantages of the American Revolution has been, that it led to a discovery of the principles, and laid open the imposition, of governments." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take many words to speak the truth"

The Machine

MacMcM has informed me that the other WV locations where we host ASs were mentioned over the weekend at Eleanor, and I was encouraged to hear that. The Gazette is a Metro region newspaper, so maybe this explains that aspect of the article.

I saw the print edition of this article today.  It ran in the Sunday Gazette, which has a circulation of about 70k.  It also is a FULL PAGE in the sports section.

If anyone has a digital camera, a well lit, full size 5 MP should work just fine.
Can't wait to see it!

Criticism is the only known antidote to error.  David Brin

What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

I just ran down to the local convenience store and grabbed a copy.  Scanning it would have to wait until Tuesday so I could use the office's copy.  I can probably work out a high-res photo.  I'll go give that a whirl.  Back in a minute.

Be patient for download, as my bandwidth is limited.  But that's high enough resolution that you can easily zoom in, scroll around, and read the print.
