Another great Appleseed. If you've never been out to Middlegate Station you are missing out. The people at the cafe/bar/motel/rv park are all very helpful and eager to accommodate the attendees as well as the folks that wander in off of Highway 50.

Doug, Chris, Misty, and Tony showed up Saturday morning ready to learn. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. Thank you for coming out. I hope to see you all at another Appleseed. No Rifleman patches were awarded this shoot so I imagine these folks will make it to another event. Remember to practice what you learned.

Doug and Chris arrived Sunday morning ready to continue, despite the fact that there were clouds in the sky, and snow on the hilltops surrounding the area. When the wind blew Sunday it felt like it came right off the snow. Neither Doug or Chris complained about the cold. They surely are not sunshine patriots. Thanks for getting off the couch.

I would like to thank arashi, Chris_H, and DarrellM5 for their dedication to the program and coming out to Middlegate Station and helping. It was great working with you.

See you on the trail.

Thank you everyone for coming.  I think we were competing with too many other events in that area to get a larger turnout that weekend.

We had some good shooters and I hope they come back next month to get their Rifleman patches.

I also thought Chris and Darrell did an excellent job and it was nice to finally meet the SavageShooter.   :)

...I think we were competing with too many other events in that area to get a larger turnout that weekend.

Things have sure changed since "the old days" of a couple of years ago. Used to be "the valley" could be used as astronaut training for the "back side of the moon".

What was the local population? 16? 15?

Guess there's been a lot of real estate development since...

And a much higher program of activity... ;D ;D ;D

Personally, since this was my first Appleseed as an IIT, my nerves didn't mind the lower turnout!

It was nice to see arashi again, & a pleasure to meet SavageShootr & DarrellM5. It was great to work with everyone & be able to just jump in & start putting what I learned at the Sacramento IBC last month into practice.

It was a REALLY neat experience to see the shooters absorb what we were teaching & improve.

I wondered how many would make it back for day 2, & was happy to see Doug & Chris make it back on Sunday, despite the wind & cold. Both fellows showed a lot of improvement from where they started on Saturday morning. Next Appleseed they come to, I think they'll both shoot Rifleman.

SS is right on about Middlegate Station. It's a lonely stop on Highway 50, but the folks there are really friendly & supportive.

And a much higher program of activity...

Well, we were competing with the 2009 World Championship of Cowboy Fast Draw, October 3, 6pm -  October 4, 2009, 2am in Fallon.

That's a pretty big event on the back side of the moon.  ;)   As is mule dear season.
