Friday night was tornadoes and rain on top of a week of tornadoes and rain.

Saturday morning shone clear, but wet.  Very wet.  Standing water forced students and instructors alike to take back pathways to the range, graciously hosted by Schultz's Resort Rod and Gun Club.  The range itself was mostly dry, and with the strategic placement of some rubber-backed mats and tarps, the prospective Riflemen persisted.

Schultz's requires each participant to be actively monitored during live fire by either an instructor or a club member.  And so Schultz's provided 4 volunteers to help us run the event.  Gentlemen, we couldn't have done it without you!  Hope to see you on the line soon!

And persist they did!  Saturday morning had an effective range of about 100 yards.  By the end of Saturday, though, there was a new Rifleman among us, as Mark earned his patch.  By the end of Sunday, we had 2 more - Kaisey and Kodey joined him!  Our effective range went out to 300 yards, and we had one cleared Redcoat!

We remembered the patriots who came before us by hearing their deeds in the Three Strikes, with the Dangerous Citizen stories, and by performing the solemn Memorial Volley, honoring the first American Soldiers to lay down their lives in the struggle for liberty.

Looks great , we had our share of tornado warnings in IL and i was beginning to think the upgrade to the top floor of the hotel was a bad omen.
