Phoenix, AZ — 25m — Ben Avery Shooting Facility — March 14–15 AAR

Patriots—circle up!

We had a truly outstanding weekend at Ben Avery Shooting Facility for our March 14–15 shoot. The weather was great—definitely warm for March, but not brutal—and the famous Ben Avery wind showed up right on cue to help drive home the KD lesson. As always, a huge thank-you to Ben Avery for hosting us. We could not do this without your continued support.

This was a big weekend for Arizona Appleseed. We welcomed a new Blue Hat, "BenjaminB," to his first shoot in that role, and he performed with excellence. He is a natural on the line and already looks like a tremendous addition to the AZ team.

We also celebrated a major milestone for Tom ("Agent3006"), a long-time Blue Hat who earned his Rifleman patch this weekend and immediately traded in that blue hat for an Orange Hat—huzzah! As if that wasn't enough, he went on to clear his Redcoat Sunday afternoon right after earning Rifleman. That is an exceptional showing and a fine example of how a Rifleman performs.

Not to be outdone, shooter Andy also earned his first Rifleman patch and heard the call right away, stepping forward to take an Orange Hat as well. Really, it was just a great weekend for Arizona Appleseed.

Shooter Michael also gave us a standout KD performance, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three shots and three hits at 100 yards — all while using a borrowed rifle.

A big thank-you goes out as well to everyone who traveled in from out of town to spend the weekend with us, including shooters from Tucson and one all the way from Utah. We are honored you chose to be on the line with us.

To all of our shooters, families, and volunteers: thank you. Your focus, coachability, and enthusiasm made this a memorable weekend. Keep working those fundamentals, keep telling the story, and we'll see you back on the line soon.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

"It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."  "Nil desperandum, -- Never Despair. That is a motto for you and me. All are not dead; and where there is a spark of patriotic fire, we will rekindle it." - Sam Adams
