Another great event on the books for Hurlburt Field!  We had 12 patriots come out and face the heat on Saturday.  All showed up with teachable attitudes and walked away having learned a lot about pistol shooting.  Congrats to Amaan for showing most improvement.  His score increased from 52 to 141 (he only shot 2 PQTs).  As always, the big dot, little dot exercise was a favorite.  We shot it once one at a time and then to save time shot it in two relays, so that everyone had someone to reload, if needed and tell them when to advance to the next dot.  The malfunction drills and ball and dummy drills were also a hit as they uncovered some otherwise undiagnosed issues.  I especially love the ball and dummy because the coach learns just as much or more than the shooter.

On Sunday, only three of our shooters came back.  All of the others were members of the same family and they had a previous church commitment and didn't return, but they will be back!!  this provided our instructors an opportunity to shoot and refine their shooting skills.  CONGRATS to IIT Brian "Bristang" he scored his first Pistleer score (9mm) with a score of 230. 

A huge thank you to the Hurlburt Field Rifle and Pistol Club for always supporting us.  We had one board member shooting with us and two others stopped by briefly to take a look at our event.  They are AWLAYS SO supportive of the Project Appleseed events!!

Another huge thank you to the instructors who came out and made the event a great success: Gunjunkie, Waky, Mrs. Waky, Bristang, Dragon and Konaboy.

A weekend at an Appleseed clinic is always a weekend well spent. I find that teaching helps me be a better shooter myself. I can't wait to do it again.

The line of students on Saturday was amazing.
