Promotional Event ARR - Chandler AZ - Oct 25, 2026

While shopping for some new pants at the local 5.11 Tactical store in Chandler I noticed a table with business cards and flyers for local businesses that would be interesting to the sort of clientele that shops at 5.11 Tactical.  I took the opportunity to do a bit of 7th stepping and talked to the supervisor about Project Appleseed.  Not only did he welcome us to keep flyers on his community table, he offered me a free table at his the trick or treat Event on Saturday the 25th.



The event was great.  I got to pass out candy to kids (and a few adults) as hand out our leaflets.  I was able to talk to a few dozen people about Project Appleseed.

The most interesting conversation was a gentleman who as hoping to have his wife and son come to a Rifle clinic, but did not believe we had much to teach him.  He was an experienced long distance benchrest shooter.  I explained that what we do is a different kind of shooting and diversifying his skillset would be both fun and useful.  He was still not convinced.

I took a page from the Rifleman's Challenge.  I removed a roughly 1 inch Snickers bar from my candy bowl and asked him if he could put 5 round in that candy bar from 25 yards without his bench rest or bipod.

He asked "Who can do that, can you?".

My reply was simple "I can do that, and so can anyone else wearing this hat.  We want to teach you to do it too.  Give us a weekend."

Not only did he take a flyer, about a dozen other people walked up and took one.

Overall a great day.  Likely better if I'd not eaten so much candy.
