Another great event at TCSC in the books!  4 students made the pilgrimage out to the range on this beautiful (yet hot) day to be on the line for this one day pistol event.  This turned out to be a great event, as we had a 1 to 1 instructor to student ratio.  This meant individual training for all our students, and provided the opportunity for our instructors to get on the line and get some practice in as well!

We kicked the morning off with a great telling of the first strike by Catch-10-22.  Afterwards, the morning's hits count target showed that there was skill present, but we also had some work to do.  Right off the bat, one of our newer students, Daria, cleaned the hits count target!

The class stayed attentive and soaked up all points of instruction throughout the morning, despite the initial cool temps.  After our morning of instruction and drills, Catch-10-22 presented a superb telling of the remaining two strikes to which the students were very attentive and asked plenty of questions.

The afternoon's instruction was well received, and we were able to fit in some extra instruction and PQTs.  Yours truly provided a quick conversation about gear and the Onion of Self Defense.  Afterward, we snuck in one last PQT, and then moved on to our final redcoat of the day just before sunset.

Great progress was made by all students present!

DJ made great strides with his control of the fundamentals, which resulted in much better groupings and consistency!  I'm confident that he'll continue to improve on his Pistoleerâ„¢ journey, especially after some "homework" of dry fire practice and additional grip suggestions.  His PQT scores were 171, 154, and 166.

Daria, a new shooter, showed great promise and progression throughout the entire day.  She's a natural and her future is very bright in the world of shooting sports. Daria was also the only student to clear the hits count target, which provided the opportunity for Catch-10-22 to tell the story of the Maryland Immortal 400.  Her PQT scores were 196, 162, and 144.

Nick came to this event with his eye on that coveted Pistoleerâ„¢ patch.  While it escaped him this time, I'm confident that he'll be getting a patch next time around. His PQT scores were 198, 205, and 204.  So close!  I look forward to being able to award you a patch at your next event! :)

Jim came to this event with a plan and a gorgeous CZ Shadow 2 Compact to help aid him in his quest for that coveted patch, which he was able to achieve on the very first PQT!  He also took high score for the weekend! His PQT scores were 216, 201, and 194.

Two instructors re-qualified Pistoleerâ„¢ at this event, Progress-not-Perfection and yours truly.

I couldn't be more proud of the fantastic progress made by each and every one of you.  I highly encourage you all to practice what you learned with both live and dry fire. Working under the pressure of the clock is something that some practice can also overcome.

I hope to see everyone on the line at a future rifle or pistol event!
