AAR May 31,Upper Susitna Shooter Association,Talkeetna Alaska

Itsansks,Agent Orange and I rolled into the Montana Creek campground outside Talkeetna on Friday night to be prepared for the next days shoot at the Upper Susitna Shooters Association Range. We got to the range early Saturday morning, and started setting up as the shooters started to arrive. The nearest shooters came from Eagle River, about 80 miles away, and several came from Fairbanks close to 200 miles away. Everybody showed up on time and ready to go. The weather was patchy clouds and showers but soon cleared up or at least stopped raining.
   We had several young shooters who were inexperienced, but made great progress over the course of the weekend. Lilli,James,Sawyer and Randall were excellent students. Shooters Kevin,Ethan,Luke, Sam and Morgan all made good progress and are getting close and we had three more experienced shooters ,Scott,Steve and Ray qualify as rifleman.Huzzah. an extra Huzzah for Steve who persisted through several Appleseeds to qualify. Good job, Steve.
   I can't say enough about the quality of students in this group, everyone was focused, disciplined, and enthusiastic. No safety issues no bad attitudes!
   The instructors were absolutely top notch and did their usual great job.
