The Traditional 25M Rifle Marksmanship Clinic recently took place over two days, where a full line of participants had the opportunity to learn and refine essential rifle marksmanship skills. Led by experienced instructors, students were taught the core fundamentals of marksmanship, including solid shooting positions, sling usage, dry firing techniques, and efficient sight adjustments.

Throughout the clinic, participants worked on developing the skills necessary to achieve precision and accuracy, with the goal of eventually shooting accurately out to 500 yards — known as the traditional "Rifleman's Quarter Mile." These time-honored techniques, once commonly practiced in early American marksmanship, are deeply rooted in the nation's history.

In addition to practical training, participants were immersed in the rich history of the American Revolution during breaks. They heard captivating stories about the brave men and women who fought for the freedoms we hold dear, gaining a deeper appreciation for how marksmanship and liberty are intertwined. By the end of the event, attendees not only sharpened their shooting skills but also gained a renewed understanding of the values that shaped our nation.

Over the weekend, Chris S posted the highest Rifleman score with a 230, followed by consistent performances of 226, 214, and 212. Scott R also excelled, re-qualifying with scores of 228, 227, 224, and 220. Simon had steady results with scores of 214, 212, 212, and 211. Susan R re-qualified with scores of 227 and 216, while Terry R finished with a score of 210. Everyone else was so close to achieving that qualifying rifleman score, and that's something to be proud of! Every shot brings you closer to success, and with a bit more practice, I'm confident you'll hit your target next time. Don't get discouraged—use this as motivation to come back stronger. Keep up the hard work, and remember that every great marksman started just where you are now. You've got this!

The following individuals cleared their redcoat target, earning the prestigious qualification for Maryland's coveted Immortal 400 patch: Chris S, Scott R, and Susan R.

At this weekend's clinic, 3 shooters demonstrated exceptional skill, proving effective at distances up to 400 yards. Four shooters showcased their proficiency at 300 yards, while another four shooters proved effective at 200 yards. Each participant's performance highlighted their growing ability and skill at varying distances.

A big thank you to our instructors for their expert coaching, to the participants for their dedication and positive learning attitude, and to our host range, Anne Arundel Fish and Game, for generously providing the use of their excellent facilities. Your contributions made this event a success!
