Despite the freezing temperatures and forecasted showers, we had 9 students show that they were not "sunshine patriots"...one all the way from Chicago!!!!!  This was the first 2 day pistol clinic for Tennessee and everyone was eager to experience it.  Saturday started off with history and safety, then on to the first "Hits Count" target...which Lyndon H. cleared.  The rest of the day was filled with instruction, drills, and more history.  By the end of the day we had a Pistoleer™™ requalification...but Distinguished this time (Jonathan Y., 240). Brian B. was knocking on the door with a 206. Huzzah!
Sunday started out well.  It seemed as if the instruction the day before had sunk in overnight and we had great targets all day.  Additionally, the students heard about Sam and Sam as well as the Onion of Self Defense...which prompted great discussion.  Before the day ended, we had minted 3 new Pistoleer™™s (Lyndon H. with 211 and 219; Brian B. with 210 in which he got drizzled with REAL North Bridge water, 227, and 233...he also cleared the Sunday afternoon "Hits Count" target; and Zach C. with 211) and gained an AppleCore volunteer (Zach C. aka Windrunner).

I want to thank each one of you for your perseverance and for bringing a "teachable attitude".  I also want to thank the great volunteers that I got the pleasure of working with for the weekend.  Your sacrifices are noted. I couldn't have done it without you!  Congratulations goes to tennessee hangfire on earning his 10 shoot pin.

In giving us dominion over the animal kingdom, God has signified His will that we subdue the beast within ourselves.
John Lancaster Spalding

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

"[T]o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them…"
- Richard Henry Lee, Declaration Signer

I'd like to thank the excellent group of students who made the efforts of the SB and instructors so worthwhile.
The range was great, the checkin was painless, and the weather was better than we deserved!
This was the first 2 day APC I was involved and I thought it went great.
Thanks to Tennessee Beast for the hard work.

Thank you very much for hosting and teaching such an excellent clinic. It should be the standard for all pistol classes everywhere.

I will be back.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
