It was a great weekend at the Albuquerque City Range.  Eleven shooters came out for a Rimfire KD weekend and it was a lot of fun.  Our thanks to range manager, Mike, who was great to work with!

The Sandia mountains looked down at us and we had bright blue skies for the weekend.  We began the day with some instruction and then we shot Morgan's Shingle.  Two Appleseeders earned the right to march with Captain Morgan.  Congratulations to Jon (Desert_Diver) and West!

After our Morgan's Shingle challenge, we began gathering data and shooting the Rimfire AQT at 200 yards.  Mrs. Smith joined us so she could requalify for the year.  Congratulations to Tom on his 49/50!  About noon, we broke for lunch and listened to the story of the War of Regulation and the Battle of Alamance.  These events were a foreshadowing for April 19th, 1775.

Sunday morning came quickly and we met back on the line.

Next we began our day learning about Target Detection from Desert_Diver and participating in a Range Estimation exercise.

We completed 4 RF-AQTs on Sunday.  At lunch we heard the story of the Battle of King's Mountain.  Congrats to Sunday qualifiers Ethan and Desert Diver (who qualified with globe sights!)  Huzzah!!

I want to thank each of the instructors who came out and helped make this weekend a success.  RangeMom, Maha, Desert_Diver, and Mrs. Smith... you guys are great.  Job well done!   O0

To all the shooters, well done.  If you didn't earn your patch this time, remember a Rifleman persists.  America needs Riflemen today to step up and be active in your communities and in your nations.  Our forefathers paid for our Liberty in blood and it's up to us to guard it well.
