Special thanks to the Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club for hosting us yet again.  They donated their entire rifle range to us for this Saturday event, as well as a Pistol Bay for two days for our 25 meter rifle event, and were very helpful in all aspects of getting ready for an Appleseed event.

The weather was not terribly cooperative, and it drizzled off and on, but we couldn't have asked for a better day of marksmanship and heritage!  The shooters were all experienced, which was obvious as we covered the points of instruction.  Dry fire practice confirmed their skill.

Several marksmanship improvement drills were used, including relaxation techniques and the NPOA drill with your eyes closed, and the results were eye-opening (pun intended).  Scope turrets were tested for repeatability, and several adjustments would need to be made. Improvement was noticeable.  Everyone was very receptive to the course of instruction.    We also tried the 50 yard AQT followed by a 25 yard version.  However, there was a significant delay between the two, and this disrupted the improvement shown at past events.

Throughout the weekend the shooters showed those pesky Redcoats the strength of our cause on both the AQT and Hits Count Targets, and two shooters requalified as Rifleman – Tim and Shawn.  Shawn also scored Rifleman using the sitting position instead of prone!  Both Tim and Shawn also cleared their Redcoat targets, with Tim utilizing his new found relaxation techniques, and Shawn doing it sitting!  Huzza!  Everyone else almost cleared their Redcoat targets, missing barely each time.  Next time for sure!

Thanks to all the shooters and the Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club for a great weekend.

Be GENTLE when adjusting your turrets all the way out/in to count clicks. :cool2:
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
