We had another amazing Appleseed 25M Rifle Clinic this past weekend at Ben Avery Shooting Facility!

We had a great turn out of 13 shooters, 7 of those were First Time Appleseeders including 5 youth shooters, the youngest being 9 years old!


We started a new tradition in AZ where if you clear our Hits Count target you get one of our state patches. 


The range at Ben Avery is a wonderful facility and we're very fortunate they host us.  That said the heat and wind did give our shooters a chance to practice persistence! Saturday's high temperature was 113 degrees. With Sunday cooling down a whole 3 degrees to 110 we were treated to significant gusts all morning. While the shooters did great, there were 4 EZ-UP casualties causing a 'fix the line' drill more than once.


The heat did affect some scores and some shooters felt the need to pack it up early on Sunday afternoon. Completely understandable after two days in that kind of heat.  But everyone left with a smile on their face and lots of "I'll be back"  was given. The shooters were focused and on the points of instruction.


The marksmanship fundamentals were applied well to the targets and marksmanship did improve!


Having just attended an Instructor Boot Camp this month our instructors skills were refined, sharp, and their enthusiasm for the program was evident.  I'm very proud of the progress our IIT's are making.  I'm also very proud of how the AZ Cadre is growing and maturing.
