Special thanks to the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club for hosting us again.  They were very helpful in all aspects of getting ready for the weekend at an Appleseed Rifle Clinic.  And we will be back there again next year!

Unfortunately, due to other obligations and illness, 5 shooters were unable to join us either day.  The weather was only tolerable on Saturday (rain and drizzle), and thunderstorms drove us out early on Sunday.  Despite the weather, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend of marksmanship and heritage!  The shooters all persevered through the rain, and greatly improved as the weekend progressed.  We worked through the day proceeding from demonstration to dry fire practice to live fire confirmation of our marksmanship instruction, combined with history and heritage.  Quite a few equipment issues were corrected, including loose scopes, eye relief and many build-ups of cheek risers.  Although other equipment issues cropped up throughout the weekend, they were resolved by the knowledgeable staff.  Everyone was very receptive to the course of instruction.  History and heritage were well received and there were some great discussions.

Everyone returned on Sunday and we took advantage of the break in the weather in the morning, with more drills and practice, and the "eyes closed" NPOA drill shot was especially illuminating.  Everyone learned how much they had actually been using muscle, not bone support!  By Sunday afternoon we delayed lunch and got in several AQT's before the thunderstorms set in.

The shooters showed those pesky Redcoats the strength of our cause on both the AQT and Hits Count Targets, and on the last Hits Count target, 7 of the 8 shooters hit the Shingle!  Huzza!  In addition, 2 of the shooters cleared the Hits Count Target at least once.    Congratulations to all.

Thanks to all the shooters, instructors and the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club for a great weekend.
