Well it was a small crowd but they all made up for small by being big.

We had quite a few people that were only going to be there on Saturday. Guess because they were smart and knew Sunday would be hot? And they were right. I'm not looking forward to July next month.

Regardless we all had fun. We had 8 shooters on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. And 3 of them were one of the instructors kids. Wait - kids - dang they are no longer kids!! Those 3 are no longer kids but young men and women. The youngest finally shot rifleman - err riflewoman. Ah heck- rifleman. I still use old school nouns. The older ones all got in the mid to high 230s.

And not only did 'Get to the Chopp-ahhh!' shoot a 226 (or was that 227) she took an Orange Hat. THANK YOU. She'll be a great addition to the Texas Family. She's such a great young lady. Reminds me of her mother Mary - who at one time was the Texas State Coordinator.

We had a father and son team who came out and gave it their best. Dad did well and his son did pretty good. The son was left eye dominate but right handed. Since he hadn't done a lot of shooting previously we decided to have him shoot left handed. And yeah - that is tough. However he did pretty well. Yup - it's hard to overcome that. But all things considered he did well. Dad did real well - almost there.

We had a young man about 18 who was new to the USA - parents and him moved here just a few years ago. Escape from China. And of course he knows the value of the 2nd Amendment and likes shooting. He had a CMMG 22 conversion for his AR. While those conversions are OK they just aren't as accurate as a full fledged 22 dedicated rifle. Sunday we gave him a Tippmann loaner and he did a lot better. Almost but not quite. He'll be back.

Being as we had a lot of instructors and small crowd all the instructors got to get some time on the line and requaled.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
