If you live in a state that allows them now is the time to think about getting one.  I bought my first Sparrow 22 can about a decade ago and it took 14 months for approval with sending in the paperwork (on dead trees in those days).  Last week I bought another Sparrow 22 can and a 9mm can, certified my paperwork yesterday around 2PM and had ATF approval & tax stamps by 10AM this morning.

When I was a kid down on the farm we didn't wear ear pro as it thought "unnecessary" when shooting outdoors (80's were a heck of a decade).  I know I suffer for it today.  So I wanted to pick up an extra can as my daughter gets into shooting to protect her hearing as much as possible when we shoot down at the farm.

Yep, it's supposed to be the "new normal" now also.  I hope it's true.

My understanding is that they have changed some procedures.  If an application has a "hiccup" and delays in approval, it gets removed from the line to be sorted out later and the line continues uninterrupted.  The old process would have to resolve the hiccup of the application that had problems while everyone else waited.
Welcome to Tennessee, the patron state of shootin' stuff.
