What is a more appropriate day than Veteran's Day to celebrate our Heritage and practice some Marksmanship?  Thirteen patriotic Americans came out in the chilly weather to make the Sounds of Liberty at Beaver Valley Rifle & Pistol Club.  This was truly an "open borders" event, with students from NY, OH and PA taking instruction from a cadre of OH & PA instructors.  Thank you all for coming out, and thanks to BVRPC for hosting us for 14 years!

This was a one-day event, so the time frame was compressed.  Only two AQTs were shot, but NINE of the Riflemen present earned their Rimfire KD patches!  Eric and Dave T. started the day out right by hitting Morgan's Shingle.  After lunch Dave T., Eric and jiminbolivar took top honors in the Range Estimation exercise.  By the end of the day the high scores were Keith (49, Distinguished!), Eric (48, Distinguished!), wickedworx (47), Mike, Shawn, Yankee Peas (42), jiminbolivar (42, Iron Sights!), ThatIndianGuy (41), and Dave T. (40).  That is a whole lot of hot shooting on a cold day!  Congratulations to all.

Thank you to ThatIndianGuy for taking an Orange Hat.  I'm sure he will be a great asset to the NY cadre, and will maybe come back to visit us in PA and OH sometimes.  Finally, thanks to all of the Instructors and Applecore from PA and OH who came out to celebrate my final event as an Instructor.  In future years I'm sure that my best memories of my time as a Project Appleseed Instructor will be those of all the outstanding Patriots that I worked with on the line and met as students.

It was a bittersweet day.  We had a great time.  ThatIndianGuy stepped up and took a hat to help out winning back NY.

It was great to see so many instructors and motivated students.

I'm sure Kieth's success will lead to a 200 yard RFKD at the Oil City Ike's in the future.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
