A great return to PRFGCA in Columbia Maine this past weekend. Things started slow with pre registrations but ended up the last week with a very good turnout in spite of the weather.

14 shooters started the day Saturday, with varying levels of proficiency. The day included std POI's and some drills to get folks as ready as could be for AQT's. One AQT was fired by the end of the day.

Sunday started wet and remained so all day. Early on we got our first Rifleman, Joshua, with a sizzling 237 score with his scoped rifle. Later in the day he did so again with iron sights! Harold fired a fine 225 score by lunchtime. A few shooters were pushing it in the 190's for score and improvement was seen in many of the targets fired Sunday.

The attendees were a good group to work with, those who took in the instruction showed betterment in performance. I wish a few didn't have to leave as early as they did but hope they will attend another 'seed in the future. Maine is a big state and a couple drove a fair distance to attend, even with the forecast for wet weather.

A big thanks to the crew of The Old Guide and Boreas for working the line and the incidental extras they performed throughout the weekend. Things went smooth overall, even with the malfs that occur at an event.

Pleasant River Fish and Game Conservation Assn. have been long time supporters for Appleseed for years. Everything from a tent covering the firing line to hot food available at lunch both days it all helps and made a difference. It was good be be back there and we hope to again in the future.

Even in less than ideal conditions, a Rifleman persists.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I had some problems posting a reply, thanks Scuzzy for getting things ironed out.. Belatedly posting some pictures from the October shoot at Columbia, Maine. A nice (if soggy) event all the way around. Special thanks to TOMINCT and The Old Guide for travelling considerable distances and running another seamless shoot.
