We had a great fall weekend at the Eagle Rock Gun School and Range for our 25meter event.   I want to thank the range for all of their support of the Appleseed program and we look forward to returning next year for both a Pistol and a 25meter event.

Eight of the nine students were first time Appleseed participants and this included two families.   I would like to thank the fathers that brought their children out to the event.   Appleseed instructors always enjoy the participation of families at events.   The kids are the future of this country and it is good to have them attend an Appleseed event.

Many of the students came to this event already knowing how to shoot well.   Hopefully you all come away from the event with some new marksmanship techniques or were inspired by the history presentations.   It was a pleasure spending the weekend with everyone.

Congratulations to Idaho's new rifleman; Jeff, Vern, Mike and Nephi.  You all put up impressive AQT scores and there was almost a new designated rifleman.   Mike shoot the high score of the weekend with an impressive 238.

Remember, one of the characteristics of a rifleman is persistence.  If you did not earn you patch at this event, continue to practice the skills you learned with dry fire practice at home.   Dry fire practice will help reinforce the 6 steps to firing the shot, your Steady Hold Factors and Natural Point of Aim shifts.   Remember to focus on good breath control and proper trigger control (finger placement on the trigger and follow through). 

I will start working with the range to get some events scheduled for next year.   I am looking forward to seeing you all at a future event. 

Per your recommendations, I reviewed the Unified Sportsman's range in Rexburg.   This does look like a good facility for a KD event.  If you have any contacts for the range, please send them to me.

Had a blast, and can't wait for the next event. Hopefully next year you can have a pistol event in eastern idaho, i would love a chance to earn that patch and i know my wife would enjoy that class as well. She loves shooting pistols but hates rifles. Thank you for putting on a great class.
