What a great weekend at Tusco Rifle club in New Philadelphia!
you couldn't ask for a better time. Great weather, Great Instructor corps, and excellent studnets!

Our day started a bit earlier than scheduled (ahem...), but we got off to a sprint right out of the gate with 2 cleared redcoats.
After seeing what our starting point was we began with our steady hold factors in prone. Tick Magnet did a fine job all weekend with every point of instruction, and his model Ohio Piper was the perfect, ummm, model. Squares were shot, then came the 6 steps (who knew there was so much to actually shooting a rifle?).
As the day progressed group sizes kept shrinking down to almost nothing. In between strings of fire, we all got to hear from each instructor a different piece of our heritage as Americans. The day ended with promises to return on Sunday, well rested with clean(ish) rifles.

Sunday began cool and calm (which is something for August)! our morning redcoats showed that our students had retained information from the day before. After a quick review and some little helpful hints we began our AQTs. And we were not disappointed in the results. 2 requalifies and 2 brand new riflemen. Each student showed vast improvement from Saturday morning by the time we ended Sunday.

Many thanks to Tusco Rifle Club for hosting, our students (hope to see you all again on the line), and the instructors: Tick Magnet, Ohio Piper, and Third Degree!

Until next time!
