What a great weekend at Tusco Rifle club!
Saturday dawned, well, rather the sky wasn't night anymore. Rain came down, wind blew, and temperatures plummeted. None of that deterred the 13 brave Americans from coming out to hear the tale of how we became a nation, all the while learning our blocks of instruction.

Morning red coats were shot, and our work began. NavyShooter presented all points of instruction, starting with the steady hold factors in prone, 6 steps, IMC, seated, and standing. NavyShooter instructed, Tick magnet and Ohio Piper proved to be excellent models (although I don't foresee a modeling contract in their futures...) and our students did. And boy did they. 8 different individuals cleared the red coat target over the weekend.

Two distinguished riflemen.
Six riflemen.

A pair of AR's, an M1 Garand, and a 1903 graced the line of the range over the course of the weekend. The sound of freedom certainly rang off of the roof and around the hillsides!

What a great time, I hope that everyone returns again (and maybe this time I'll order up some warmer weather, just remember, you asked for it!)!

Hello.
I thought the training cadre did a great job this weekend. From the shoot boss through the IITs. It was great to see Navy Shooter get his red hat after the great job he did with his portion.

Met some great folks and saw some great shooters. Happy to see so many Riflemen and Distinguished Riflemen accomplished this weekend.

And last but not least, the heritage and history that were shared really hit home on this Patriot's Day weekend.

Thanks to the volunteers.

Huzzah! Another great weekend of heritage and marksmanship at Tusco. A big thanks to the range, the instructors, and my fellow shooters. Here are some pics of the fine instruction:
"The most natural and eligible mode of attack on the part of the people is that of detached parties of bushmen who from their adroitness in the habitual use of the firelock suppose themselves sure of their mark at a distance of 200 [yards]." - Thomas Gage, March 4th, 1775

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption
of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the
Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." - Daniel Webster

"When all connection, upheld by commerce, with the mother country, shall cease, it may be suspected that an independency of her government will soon follow." - Thomas Gage

Huzzah! It was great to spend time with friends. Here are some additional pics.
I don't always shoot AQT's, but when I do, I prefer iron sights.
