Annapolis, MD AAR - March 18-19, 2023 - Winterseed

Maryland lived up to its reputation for unpredictable weather. Most of the morning the temps were below freezing and we got the added bonus of dealing with constant winds chilling the fingers to the bone. So this seed is declared a Winterseed. Six first time Appleseeders learned the fundamentals of marksmanship and two more returned to perfect their skills. Everyone was very safe and showed improvement throughout the two days.

My job was made easier this seed with great help from our volunteers and very attentive students. Liberty Boy handled checkin and both him and Lycos provided excellent coaching on the line while keeping our shooters safe. Plus two IITs completed almost all the training evolutions as part of their accelerated promotion. Congratulations to Phoebe for completing accelerated advancement requirements to IIT2 and Progress Not Perfection completing requirements for accelerated advancement to IIT3. Both of these ladies know what they are about. I am proud of your efforts and honored to serve with you anytime!

Redcoat targets saw steady improvement to the end. By that time, three shooters earned Maryland's coveted Immortal 400 patch having cleared their target. Way to go Spencer H., Scott R., and Devlin M.

Sawyer was our designated sniper and also continued to improve his skills. He earned his William Diamond patch having stuck in there, freezing his hands all day. Hats off to each of you for persisting throughout the cold winds. I am also happy to report the following have earned their Winterseed Rifleman patch:
