[Appleseed Dad]

The 2023 Appleseed shoot at Matsell Bridge Shooting Range in Central City is now in the history books.  And what a great shoot it was!!

We had a super group of 10 shooters that came without any ego and each brought a teachable attitude with them!  They also brought along an extra supply of perseverance!  The range is an amazing place to host an Appleseed.  Thanks to Linn county for allowing us to shoot there and for all they do to maintain that wonderful facility.  And, a special thanks to Rex (IXOYE) for maintaining that relationship so we can continue to host events there!

We had 5 shooters that had been to at least one Appleseed before, and 5 newbies.  Thanks to Bruce, Nick, Brian, Kolby, Dale, Corey, Jerry, Josh, Tom, and Will for spending your weekend with us!  We were honored.

Each of you made great progress throughout the weekend!  Congratulations to Bruce and Nick for requalifying on Saturday with 228/229 respectively.  And congrats to Nick for blowing that score out of the water by shooting a 243 and making Distinguished!

We had 4 shooters clear Red Coat targets over the weekend, and Daniel Morgan had Central City shooters pass his rifleman shingle test 13 times!

Special thanks to our instructors: Rex (IXOYE), Mark (IOWA-mark), Melody (Mellie Oakley), Josh (JackRyan), Abbie (ShootinShorty) - you all did an amazing job!!  I appreciate your awesome attitudes!!
