Hey All!
Thinking I might like to get an ultrasonic cleaner and wondering if anyone has a suggestion for one that they like.
I'm thinking a small, heated one; big enough to clean a BCG and pistol slides.
Thanks,
Greg

People knock Harbor Freight, but I've been using one of theirs for at least 15 years for everything from motorcycle parts to gun maintenance.
My only complaint is the relatively short timer duration.

I've also been using HF's cheap small Ultrasonic, and for the same reasons; motorcycle and gun parts.

It does seem they have a larger one now, that I don't think was available when I picked mine up. Might upgrade for the larger size.

I would like to buy or DIY one down the road that would be barrel length.
One-third of humanity remains honest, one-third corrupt, and the final third sways to the will of others. With two-thirds either compromised or weak, what is left for the honest to do?

Another shout out for the Harbor Freight one here, use it for bolts, handgun barrels and springs etc.

Had it 3 years and works fine.

Thanks folks.
Will look into it.

When I first bought an ultrasonic cleaner, I thought it would be awesome to clean gun parts. I cleaned a steel part, rinsed and dried it and watched it rust as the seconds ticked by.
Be very careful of cleaning your part too well unless you REALLY mean to.

I have a Quantrex 140 ultrasonic.  It is used constantly for sterilization process of surgical steel instruments.  I have noticed if you let anything touch the bottom of the ultrasonic you can get pitting of metal which will lead it to rust.  Every ultrasonic I have ever used has a basket to suspend the material in the ultrasonic fluid.  The fluid is also very important.  some cleaners will eat metal.  Always make sure the ultrasonic is filled to its preferred level.  they can be great or they can be costly if used incorrectly.
I have cleaned barrels and other firearm parts without problem.  After rinse compressed air to blast and clean any leftover residue.
