It was a great weekend for marksmanship, heritage, history and fellowship. The conditions were perfect and the cast of students and instructors was top-notch. As is often the case, this was a family affair. Kevin and Shelly brought their 11-year-old triplet sons Andrew, Kevin Jr, and Robert. Jim came with his daughter Riley. Thirteen students attended.

When all the AQTS were scored everyone was pleased with the progress they had made from being qualified as a cook to becoming a marksman. Five Riflemen were revealed out of thirteen students. That's nearly forty percent. A very respectable accomplishment. The coaching of the instructors and the dedication of the students was evident in the outcomes. John, David, Kevin, and Jim earned their Rifleman patch. Lou qualified for the second time.

Sharpshooter scores were shot by Brittnee, Michael, and Patty. Shelly scored Marksman. All their target showed steady improvement throughout the weekend. Dry fire and another event should result in Rifleman scores.

Four awesome juniors worked hard on their skills and participated in the discussions of our heritage. Our designated snipers Kevin Jr, Andrew, and Robert are well on the Road to Rifleman. Our other Junior, 12-year-old Riley, showed us what it means to shoot like a girl. She scored 157 safely while making the transitions on her first outing as a shooter. Huzzah!

ArmyBooger (David) and Louie Louie (Lou) accepted Orange Hats and successfully completed IIT-0. They are welcome additions to our instructor cadre.

MyNameIsEarl and Alarm Lister were presented with their ten-event volunteer service pins. Special thanks to Sieggie who single-handedly prepared the range, and set up the flag display and target line on Friday.

I want to thank the Instructor team for another fantastic event. This makes my third event and each time it gets better.

As an Orange Hat, I look forward to learning and sharing the positive experiences I have had with others.
