Well another great shoot here in Kerrville is in the books. The weather was good and the shooters were ready. We had 16 on the line both days .Many were from out of state and drove a long way to get here.  After the safety brief and parking lot drill and introductions we had the line up and ready. All were excited to get started and get to work. Speaking of work, Marshal "don'tfix1776" came prepared to go for his RED Hat! And he jumped right in and did all of the instruction! And he did an outstanding job! Well done I say! Our first Red Coat target was a good one. We had some good shooters on the line, but there was work to be done. Chad got the day started with an outstanding Preamble. He really knows how to get folks riled up and set the stage for the three strikes of the match. Marshal kept the instruction going and the shooters started working on getting those groups smaller. We had a couple husband wife teams that were very competitive. Maren and Ray both riflemen trying to better their scores were amazing, both shooting 230-240 scores. And Zach and Crystal new shooters stuck it and their scores came up fast. Zach that 203 is so close! We had some young ones on the line as well. Jarvis and Alex both did well. We also had an instructor come who was involved in California in the early 2000s. Ryan even brought his notes and shared them with us. Welcome to Texas Appleseed! He was amazed at how some things have changed and some have not. Joseph keep at it and well done also.  Day one rapped up with improvement on the Red coat and we got in an AQT.
Sunday Morning started off well and everyone came back rested and ready to start the AQT grind. We had 5 Rifleman requalification's and several knocking on the door. Some of our out of towners had to leave after lunch, 7 hr drives home. They really wanted to be here. But many stayed the course and finished up the day with great scores. Once again a huge thanks to Hill Country Shooting Sports for allowing us to have a place to spread the news of Liberty, Marksmanship and History.
Chad and Tim you guys are my right and left hand and make the weekend easy. Mark Jerry and Marshal,  your dedication to Appleseed is wonderful. Thanks for being there to support and nurture the events with your work and efforts. Roger you being there anchoring the end of the line and shooting 240 plus AQTs all day and clearing the Red Coats is an inspiration to everyone that attends.
Looking forward to next month with new shooters and some old friends again.
