Couldn't ask for better weather, and our two shooters took advantage of it to shoot a lot better at the end of the event than when they arrived on Saturday morning! O0

The first Redcoat showed two shooters qualified at 100; the second Redcoat of the day showed one shooter got 12/13 hits! Including on the shingle! On Saturday!

Johnny Appleseed came all the way from California to shoot as a guest at this event. We were able to show our shooters a comparison of rimfire power to centerfire power with his M1A...

JA brought a lady friend with her new right-out-of-the-box 10/22 from Walmart. A young lady full of eager questions ("What's a rimfire?") which we were glad to answer as we sheparded her from barely hitting the paper to some groups in the 6-8 MOA range. Quite an improvement!

Shooter Anthony steadily improved as he soaked up the instruction and obtained his Rifleman Badge on the last AQT of the day on Sunday. Just before that, he did some .22rf on targets at 100 and 200 yards on Range 1. And was able to see that what we teach as long-range .22rf is right on the money. The wind even cooperated enough so we could see the effects of a moderate full-value wind on the .22 at 100 and 200 yards.

I strongly hope he will be a returnee, and bring his wife and kids with him, next time.

The "lady friend" aims to put together an event for her church group at our range, so despite the low attendance, some seeds were planted which may be most productive.

Guess you could say we fulfilled an Appleseed saying, "Saving America, one Rifleman at a time..." Congratulations, Anthony!
