Our annual McLean, IL Appleseed is in the books, and it was great!

22 shooters, 7 orange and red hats, Lots of learning, lots of History, and much interest in seventh stepping.

I'll let others chime in and I'll go work on the IAAR.

But just a preview:  Five new riflemen, 4 requals, and several at 190 - 202.

To echo The Editor. It was a great Appleseed weekend. Five new riflemen and much marksmanship improvement all down the line! ^:)^ Having a great cadre of Red and Orange hats made it easier to give shooters much individual attention and allow for breaks, as needed, from the hot weather. The canopies, ice cold water, Gatorade, and big electric fans courtesy of GSL Defense Training was much appreciated by all. I hope this link to my pictures works as advertised. Otherwise, I'll try again to post the few pictures I took.  https://imgur.com/user/kayanndavis24
I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.

First, a hearty thankyou to Barb and Bob Holland and family for providing a perfect location for an Appleseed event.  The area is perfect for this event and has been manicured to perfection.

Second, a sincere appreciation to The Editor and all of the instructors who took a weekend out of their schedule to provide excellent instruction to us, the participants.  It is always great seeing old friends like Shooter 30-6 and AK and El Chupacabra (AL) and Bob. It was a pleasure seeing Adrienne and Ashlynn again instructing this event and meeting Greg coming from way up north. Hopefully I didn't forget any other instructors.

As always, it is the group of patriots come to this event that makes it so enjoyable.  It's always great to see old friends I've met along the Appleseed trail as well as meeting new friends.  Unfortunately the pace of the weekend makes it impossible to meet everyone and those I do get to know are on one end of the firing line.  It was a pleasure meeting Joanna at her first AS and showing tremendous progress and her daughter Kate shot perhaps the best groups in a training exercise that I've ever seen--great potential. And Greg and Donna improvement shooting some very pretty rifles.  And Steve showed how to learn and adapt to unfamiliar positions with a standard iron sighted AR and progress to multiple Rifleman scores. These are examples from within my view.  This type of progress was evident across the line.

Congratulation to the new Riflemen and the requals as well as all those who picked up new skills that will help them move on to whatever level they choose.

Check back in a few days ,  I will try to post some pics, tho' my digitals skills are few.  Happy shooting.

Thanks to the Illinois crew for putting on a good event; I had a good time. The attendees and the cadre were all good people.
Especially fun was watching the excitement of the two young ladies present as they each crept closer and closer to 210. Neither one quite got there, but the HUGE smiles tell me that they will attend more events and both will get it. Probably even next time.
Thanks all!
Greg

Sorry for the delay with the pics. I blew out the SD card and had to send to a recovery expert. I'll try to post. Here goes:
