What a fantastic weekend spent on the beautiful Monticello Sportsmen Club.  Could not have asked for better weekend for an August weekend in Minnesota.  A big thank you to our host club, Monticello Sportsmen Club.  Also, a huge thank you to the attendees who came out and enjoyed a weekend of improving their marksmanship skills and learning more about our heritage.

Flipper - thank you for bringing your A-game to the event and requalifying with a PB of 239.  Oh, so close to that distinguished you were shooting for.  Thank you for allowing us MN cadre to pick your brain and discuss how you've seen events run elsewhere.

Koen - 2nd event and you saw huge improvements until you achieved that rifleman's score of 210.

Adam - congrats on the requalification.

Nick, Kenny, and Randy - what persistence and improvement in your shooting fundamentals all weekend.  Keep it up and you'll be shooting rifleman scores soon.

Jon - you have the skills to get there, working on finding that NPOA quicker and doing some dry fire drills at home will help.

Ted - Thank you for the grins - every time I looked over at you, I'd see a mile wide smile.  With Dave's rifle we saw what you could do so now you have to persist and put it all together.

Mark & Colin - excellent weekend spent improving your marksmanship.  Colin - make sure you use all you learned this weekend when Grandpa tests if you are ready to go hunting.  With what you learned and improved upon this weekend, putting 3 shots into that 9" plate at 100yds should be easy.

Kevin - Thank you for the teachable attitude and the willingness to work with us.  I look forward to you coming back and continuing your journey on the road to rifleman and safe firearms handling.

Instructors - I'd be remiss in not thanking you for an excellent weekend.
M14man - thanks for being a sounding board
22Salty - thanks for bringing the energy and the levity
TheDestroyer - thanks for doing all you do to assist in preparing and for the coaching you do up and down the line.
attist178 - last minute addition to the crew - thank you for the even keel, steady hand and countless coaching points you provided to our attendees.

I'm going to be tired on that flight out for work in the morning, but it was well worth it to spend a weekend in the company of such fine citizens of this great nation.

and yes,  :pics:   ( I will be working on that over the next week and will try to post once I have time on my work trip ).

Thank you to the Minnesota crew for a wonderful event! It was great getting to sit back and just focus on being a participant. It was equally fun to watch and see the similarities to the program even though I had never attended an event in this region before. My cousin also had a fabulous time, and he was very proud to get his Rifleman patch. Thank you to all that helped him on Sunday.  ;)

See you on the Appleseed Trail

Captain

Sounds like you all had another great shoot up north. Wish I could have been there.
