Another great Como shoot.  Two new Riflemen and four requals.  Mike, one of the requals, shot ten Rifleman scores in a row!  Patricia finally got her patch.  Badger also got one at his first shoot.  Special shout out to our two young ladies, Cecilia and Kinley, who made great progress.  Thanks to Rustygun for helping run this event and being the photographer.  I hope to see you all on the trail!

A mighty fine Appleseed at Desoto Rifle and Pistol Club! A very good group with a mix of repeat offenders and new faces. The weather was ideal. Two sunny days in between all the April showers. We had several requals and some new Riflemen and Riflewomen. Our youth shooters did great esp Cecilia who went from shooting all over the place to tight groups on the square by Sunday morning. Here are a few pics of a really good Appleseed.

Our corner of paradise

The shooters putting the instruction into practice and checking the results

Ebben with the Second Strike

Our youth shooters. Very impressive young ladies

Redcoats and Patriots Day patches

A newly minted Rifleman

Mike shot Rifleman on every AQT and cleaned 3 Redcoats

Ron still knows what he's about

Patricia gets her patch. A 215 even with getting caught with 2 rounds on stage 3. This was her third or so event. Well earned

Mark's still got it

Yours truly gets a full color patch

Shooters with their 3D printed redcoats. A 2" tall redcoat at 25 yards represents a 6 foot tall redcoat at 900. Yeah, our shooters can handle it

Our shooters who didn't patch made a lot of progress and we were seeing a lot of enthusiasm. Ebben always runs a great Seed and I'm sure we will see some of these shooters back on the line hopefully with a friend soon.

The event left me physically tired but feeling refreshed and good. Just a lot of positive energy, marksmanship, and history.

Chad is the man that has the redcoat figurines.  I forget his name on the forum so maybe he can chime in.  They blow up well.  I asked him if he could get them in glow in the dark colors so we could have zombie redcoats.

What a great time at Como, MS last weekend! Dart67eb and RustyGun did a really great job in running a safe and educational sport shooting event. It was a pleasure watching them teach novice shooters the fine art of marksmanship. Several took their teaching to heart and were awarded their Rifleman patches. Their patience and teaching techniques were exemplary. Also of note, we had a fine group of shooters participating who were willing to learn. As noted, several internalized the instruction and were awarded their Rifleman patches, which was no little feat. If Dart67eb and RustyGun exemplify the Appleseed cadre of instructors, then Appleseed has an outstanding future ahead of it. Calaboose (Mike) Cross
