Patriots Day Appleseed greetings to all from Racine (RCLRC)!

The weekend presented to our shooters some interesting challenges. More on that, below, but wanted to give a loud HUZZAH! to the determination and amazing attitude of this group!! Well done, fellow Patriots! Proud of all of you. Our range at Racine County Line Rifle Club has some interesting "soil challenges". A rainy week and overnight storm left us with some standing water and slick surfaces, but the sunny 80-degree day with 25 mph winds and heavier gusts dried things up pretty well, just as we were finished for the day! LOL!!
Non the less, our shooters paid no never mind and got right down to business with some very good groups, right out of the chute. We had a re-qual by lunch break and two more Riflemen by the break at the end of the day.
We had a transplant from New York who had been an Orange Hat, and was inactive, express the desire to be re-activated and did an excellent job helping. Also a new rifleman who is expressing his desire to take an Orange at his next (second) seed. Hoping to see him at RCLRC in May. Sure would like to be the one to give him that hat!
Sunday was a challenge because the rain was returning and threatening to be very unfriendly. We were able to get in two more AQT's before the downpours started, just before lunch break and picked up another Rifleman! At lunch, that Rifleman and his re-qual buddy from the day before, both took Orange Hats. WOW!!! what a weekend!! Keith, Mitch and Paul, we will et to work on those promotions and re-instatements ASAP. Thank you all. Dennis, will be keeping an eye out for your progress, thank you, too.
Riflemen, Eric, Mitch, Paul and Dennis... they know well, what they are about. But to the rest of our Shooters, some of whom are right on the cusp, keep up the good work, dry fire practice and we will be holding your Rifleman patches for you, as we are sure you will be, right then when we meet again! You all were awesome! The mud, wind, humidity, rain and sunburn never dulled your spirits. It was an honor to be there with you. More to come... and pictures, too!
