AAR: Shelby IN, September 25-26, 2021

[SteelThunder]

The Izaak Walton League Diana Chapter is a great venue with a wonderful group of hosts (thanks Beth and Ray!!) and the weather was great!  Early fall in the Midwest doesn't disappoint.

I really value coming back to a range that is a wonderful supporter and meet old friend...and there were many in our shooter cadre.  We had a group with great humor and focus on both marksmanship and history.

Congrats to our repeat Riflemen, Bryan, Terry, Nick, Bryan and Mark!  And special congrats to our new Rifleman Ethan.  Finally, I'm honored to have presented my FIRST Distinguished Rifleman tab to Mark for a 241 with optics!

I hope you all continue to practice your rifleman skills and more importantly, take the lessons and voices of our forefathers to heart.  Their vision shines in each of you.

Thanks again to my awesome instructor crew, Captain America, Pepper Spray and our new Blue Hats, Vicky, Dave and Noah.  You made this a wonderful event.

Ray and I are so appreciative of the time and talents provided by the instructors.  Thank you so VERY much to Steel, Cap'n, Pepper, Repeat, Dave, and Noah for creating another fun, safe, and informative rifleman clinic!

The next Shelby Appleseed will be on April 23/24, 2022 - save the date! I hope y'all will come back to instruct for that.  I have a few pictures to share from this past weekend.  I'll try to get them uploaded here.

We could not have asked for better weather this weekend. Range set-up was excellent.  Many thanks and great appreciation to Steel Thunder, Captain America and Pepperspray for the time and effort they put into providing the instruction and story telling this weekend.

I was especially impressed by the effort put out by the Blue Hats at this event.  Victoria, Dave and Noah assisted in making the program move along fluidly and on point.  An excellent effort by all involved.

Of course without the backing the Izaak Walton League Diana Chapter support and hosts Beth And Ray, none of this would be possible.  Thanks for your support and belief in the program.

Congrats to Ethan for his rifleman score and to the "requals" as well.  It is heart warming to see the young persons on the line soak up the marksmanship knowledge through the weekend and see how much they progressed.  They are our future and teachers of the next generation.

This was a great time. The weather cooperated and I was able to get a Distinguished patch with optics. The instruction was excellent and I always learn a lot in these classes.
