It was a wonderful weekend for history and marksmanship at Liberty Ridge Ranch, with the majority of the line full of grandparents and parents sharing the experience with their grandchildren and children. The female shooters came out in force and outnumbered (and outshot) the male shooters. :)

CorgiMom started the weekend with the First Strike. Then, after a bunch of instruction, the shooters started putting some great groups together. At lunch, Cleveland told the Second Strike and during the afternoon history segment, the shooters had the privilege of hearing Morpheous give Patrick Henry's speech.  John finished the day off with a 215 rifleman's score from his bolt action rifle.

Day two started with Army Vet presenting the Third Strike. After a review of safety and marksmanship, John followed up with 229 and 218 scores. Young Keira managed to avoid the North Bridge Baptism by shooting a 212 from a bag. She will be back soon to shoot for a rifleman's score unsupported. CorgiMom and Upacreek told several Dangerous Dames stories during the afternoon.
Christina and Nichole were shooting amazing groups and the most improved new shooters. Karen and Jack, you are both so close to Rifleman, I hope to give you a patch at the next event. This was an amazing group that soaked up the instruction and put it into practice. We will see you all at the next event.

Many thanks to all the instructors that responded to the call to make this shoot a success.

What an amazing day spent at the Liberty Ridge Ranch!  It's always a pleasure to see the Instructor cadre from my region again.  I've had to miss several Appleseed events over the past year due to COVID, finishing up a degree, and recovering from ACL surgery.  It felt so good to get back on the line.

We had a great instructor to shooter ratio.  Several times I looked down the line to see each of the instructors (except the Line Boss, of course) down on the ground with shooters!

We also had a great set of attendees who were great listeners.  Several of the younger generation were eager to respond with answers and comments during instruction.  Although we only handed out one Rifleman patch the day I was there, I think several of the shooters will be able to come back and have a great shot at getting theirs, too!

My only regret is that I could only spend Saturday at the Ranch!
