It was a scorcher, not only in terms of temperatures in the 90s but in terms of AQT scores!

Four hardy experienced Appleseeders returned for another shot at qualifying/requalifying at this one day event.  And they didn't disappoint.

Waylon was first to strike with a requal.  Not to rest on his laurels, he immediately broke out the 30 caliber to use the rest of the day to prepare for the KD later in the year.

Easton struck next.  After two AQTs with scores in the 200 but loss shots due to equipment issues, he hit with a 211 followed up by a 219.  Nice job!

Whitney fell just short of earning her patch but put up consistently improved scores in the 200 range (including a 206 with a loss round).  It won't be long, Whitney.  Just remember that a rifleman persists!

Walter also faced some equipment issues with a scope that required some coaxing to get properly zeroed.  But once done we saw rising scores.  Hope to see you on the line again!

But the marksmanship wasn't the highlight, it was the history.  Darkfoot presented all three strikes for the first time.  And his presentation led to some engaged dialogue.  Proves the point to never underestimate the insights that Americans can draw from their heritage!

Shoutouts to instructors Big John, Darkfoot, and WilderMars, each of whom took big steps on their instructor levels.  More about that in subsequent posts...

Thanks so much to all involved who made this such a great shoot!

Here are some photos from the line.
