My first Appleseed! And wow, did I ever have fun. :) The weather was pretty darn good, the people we met were terriffic. The instructors, Russ, Jim and John were absolutely fantastic! Thanks for the help guys---I needed it! Oh, I forgot the new instructor, Darrel.

Bought my wife a 10-22 yesterday so she will be with me on the line at the April 25-26, '09 Middle Gate Station (you call it Fallon) event. She usually out shoots me.

The last time I used a 22 for any real target shooting was in elementary school in California, about 1957. That was a CMP sponsored deal. Believe it or not, we carried our guns to school on the bus with ammo in our pockets (girls and boys). This was before liberalism caused an 80 point decline in the average intelligence of Americans who make the rules.

Till April 25th---------See you soon!

You sure do meet the nicest people at an Appleseed.  Yes, the weather was pretty good, I finally got the last pound of dust out of my nose earlier this week.  What a great bunch of shooters. You all got me well started on my path to becoming an instructor.  I look forward to seeing each an every one of you again!  A special thanks to the Shoot Boss, Atticus.

This from a 'non-gun related' forum:

QuoteWell , my son and I attended the shoot at Middlegate NV weekend before last and I must say it was not exactly what I expected. Lol, we did get a workout to say the least. I expected a more competition type thing but this is a back to basics instructional event, coupled with some pretty good US history. We enjoyed it and my son is hyped up about going to more of these events. I'd recommend going to anyone who enjoys shooting.

Very good work, All!   O0

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed the chance to meet new people and learn some instructor skills.

I'll be helping out at the next 3 scheduled Fallon/Middlegate shoots, so let me know if there is something we can do, or bring, to make the experience even better.

Had a great time at this event, which is my 3rd at Middlegate.  I'm looking forward to the April event as well.  Here's a few pics.

Thanks for posting the pictures Darrell. See you at Old Middle Gate April 25-26. My wife will be there also with her brand new Ruger 10-22. I got two neighbors to come with us also. I may get another shooter too.  O0
