Wow, what a fantastic weekend we had at the Blue & Gray Rifle & Pistol Club in Guntersville, AL!

First and foremost, I want to thank Blue & Gray.  For the past several years Appleseed is the only outside group they have allowed to use their range.  They close for the entire weekend, don't charge range fees, and provide us a great facility.  Thank you!!

This group showed up early Saturday morning ready to go.  Everyone had their equipment on the line before 8:30am so we jumped right into some history.  AH1Tom gave his usual outstanding recount of the first Strike!  After safety instruction, we brought rifles to the line and rocked out a Redcoat target, then proceeded with instruction.  Each and every one of them was attentive to instruction and were very appreciative to the instructors.  Their squares targets showed that they had put our instruction into practice.  We took a break for lunch and heard a rousing re-telling of the second Strike by GlockMike.  After lunch we had IMC instruction, did carding the sights and mag change drills followed by seated and standing instruction.
The temperature and humidity may have risen a little through the day.  The third Strike was well told by our small friend Peace and Love.

When the first AQTs were scored we had a requalified Riflemen:  Jin qualified yet again.  I do have an Orange hat in his size.

On Sunday morning AH1Tom blessed us with morning history, part of which was the interview of CPT Levi Preston.
We were able to complete another 4 AQTs on Sunday.  McAlligator was danger close to a distinguished score with iron sights.
I can't express how awesome this weekend was!  We had a husband/wife, a father/daughter, and three generations of a family.  Families coming out and hearing about the history and heritage of our great Republic and shooting rifles!  It doesn't get much better than that.

(P.S.  I have a stack of Orange Hats waiting)

May God bless each of you!

We didn't hear a certain someone's favorite phrase "Turning money into noise" until the second day of instruction. Outside of that obvious omission the instruction was to notch as always. I still pick up something I need to improve on at each event even after 4 events.  The young one is now asking about attending  a KD event.  I guess that means I might have to build a new rifle... ^-^

It was a great weekend for liberty. Although it was hot, it was not nearly as much so as in previous years and the rain held off until after we were finished on Sunday. The shooters were awesome and attentive. Several were dealing with mobility issues but persisted in their pursuit of the coveted Rifleman's Patch. Did Gary mention he has some orange hats available? I'll bet he even has a blue hat if that would be your preference.
