Another fantastic Appleseed experience is in the books from the Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association in Wilmington, Ohio. A sold out crowd gathered to learn and sharpen marksmanship skills under a blanket of soul warming American history delivered by members of the greatest marksmanship instruction team ever assembled.

We expected wonderful summer time weather for our August event and this year did not disappoint. It was hot. It was sticky. So sticky in fact that the rounds had to swim to the target at one point because the air was so thick. But hey, that's August 'round here and we wasn't skeer'd a bit.

The initial charge of the Redcoats was almost a rout due to the number of newbies and never-done-its on the line. They practically overran US! Lucky for our posterity the skill of a few Riflemen and the sheer ugliness of the Shoot Boss spooked them Redcoats and allowed for an ordered retreat. With that the urgency of our mission became apparent!

The firehose was opened full blast and the shooters responded with zeal and fortitude bolstered by Redleg's heartfelt rendition of the 3 Strikes. Squares were blasted, slings were stretched, sights were tweeted and before 'ya knew it an AQT fell to a re-qualify by the latest master of Good Ole' Bay 7, Todd, who posted a 216.

We engaged the Redcoats again and thanks to Evans clearing his we were able to regroup and fight another day!

Sunday's weather brought welcome relief so we could review in peace and work on the fundamentals before we started The Grind. By lunch The Program had another Orange Hat Instructor as Chrystal stepped up to deliver our sacred message to the sleeping hoards.

Soon enough Evans crushed an AQT (216) and Todd repeated the feat. Not to be outdone Evans blew us away with a 237 nearly earning his Distinguished patch. (Keep it up my man! Almost there!)

So many shooters then turned it on with Marksman and Sharpshooter scores that we couldn't keep up! Scores over 200 were popping up all around but alas the shadows grew long and our day came to an end with a regiment of Redcoats falling to the latest group of fine Americans to awaken to the Glorious Cause of Liberty!

A heart-felt Thank you to all our shooters and instructors for an unforgettable event and remember to spread the word- come on back and bring a friend!

Do thou Great LIBERTY inspire our Souls- And make our Lives in thy Possession happy- Or, our Deaths glorious in thy just Defense.

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword because the whole body of the people are armed"- Noah Webster A.D.1787

". . . They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons,
that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and
delivered us bound to our foe,

said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

Thanks to all the shooters who showed up and suffered through the heat, humidity, & hover flies with a desire to learn and a positive attitude. I came away very impressed with the improvement of several shooters who had very little experience upon their arrival Saturday morning. Sadly, I did not get an opportunity to take any photos but did grab a shot of our latest Wilmington orange hat, Chrystal. Welcome to the team!  HUZZAH!

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We seek not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

"Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present Generation, to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good Use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it." - John Adams in a letter to Abigail, 26 April 1777

Sorry to have missed this one. Colleges pick the worst times to re-start!

Huzzah to Redleg for getting the Strikes under his belt and to Chrystal for stepping up. And to any shooters who are reading this: COME BACK! If you were shooting that well you WILL get that Rifleman patch next time. Stay the course.

Thanks to Longrifleman and his crew for running a great event. I was happy to make it to another range that I hadn't been to before. Hope to make back there again in the future.

Thanks also to the Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association for allowing Appleseed to use their fabulous facility. I want to come back when the new long distance range is up and running.

Attached are the few photos I was able to get.
"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the
whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they
lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."
~ Samuel Adams
