Hi All,

I have an older Remington 700 and it has the trigger issue the recall is about.  I do not want to send in my rifle so I'm looking for a trigger.  This is primarily a ground hog and deer rifle.

Thank you for your suggestions,

Chuck

I have Timneys on my 700. So far so good. No regrets whatsoever.

Timney 510 is pretty standard for good reason, but Timney's Calvin Elite is the new cool-guy trigger. Jewell's HVR gets lots of love in PRS circles but I haven't played with one (someday).

I have a 510 in mine and it's a really solid unit for the money.

Walker, or X-Mark Pro? The X-Mark Pro was a defect-related recall, the Walker stuff is part of a settlement to make a lawsuit go away. The news keeps on trying to conflate them, dogged souls that they be.

As a note, 700 Police rifles made past a certain date have a 40X and aren't part of either.

My pre recall 700 trigger is perfect. I heard that they are using that for the recall. I would send it in.

The Shilen is worth including with the other high end drop in options. Have Jewells, riflebasix, timneys and others, and use an awful lot of the shilens.

A lot of sentimental value; first gun I ever bought, first groundhog, first deer.  Selling guns is a last resort only unless I really dislike it.
