The Patriots weekend event in Ames was another great shoot at the Ames Izaac Walton League range.  Many thanks to the Ikes for hosting us again this year - what a great facility!

The 22 shooters and 6 instructors (including a newly minted orange hat) enjoyed beautiful weather both days - mid 60's and sunny is as perfect as Iowa gets in April for a shoot!  This might have been as good a group of folks as I've had the privilege of working with - attitudes were stellar throughout the whole weekend, and I rarely see shooters work as hard as this bunch - dry firing, practicing positions, analyzing targets.  Thanks to all involved for such a great shoot!

We ended up with 3 new riflemen (congrats to Scott, Brandon, and Josh!) and 1 requalification - Chris - who also took an orange hat!  Way to go, guys!

There might be a few photos uploaded of the girl in the orange hat and the young girl shooting.  That's what happens when the shoot boss is taking photos of his daughters!

This was one outstanding weekend!  The weather was perfect and we had a great group of students.  Every single one got down to work right away.  This is the best group I have ever had for consistently using prep time to dry fire.  No slackers in this bunch.  There are going to be many more riflemen made from this group in the near future. And kudos to my fellow instructors for a well run event.  It was a pleasure working with every single one of you.

What follows are some pics I took of the day, including our three rifleman and new orange hat.

Our three Riflemen and new Orange hat.  Congrats Brandon, Scott and Josh on qualifying expert!!   ^:)^  And thank you Chris for stepping up and accepting an orange hat!  We are all looking forward to working with you in the future. O0

I only had time to work the second day of this shoot, but I must say, this might have been my favorite shoot as an IIT. Well done instructors!  ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^
