New Rifleman Don scored once, twice, three times.....

It was a chilly Halloween Appleseed shoot this weekend. Rifleman Andres was on the line in one of those mixed-message outfits, dressed as a Chiquita Banana with a MARPAT coat. Rifleman Don grew tired of benchresting his life away, and traded it in for a mat and a sling. HUZZAH! Now he knows hot to squeeze a trigger! Cover Girl nearly out-shot her boyfriend and was regularly shooting 4MOA groups on Day 1 Squares. Silver Bullet stoked all with camp coffee. It was so cold, it didn't take near as long to get through the Strikes, in fact it didn't warm up until the end of Day 2. A fine sporting and historic event all around.

When I arrived Saturday morning I knew it was going to be special.  The name of the range clicked and I realized the beautiful spot was dedicated primarily to Appleseed.  Obtaining Rifleman was important to me so I brought the good attitude unfortunately 50 years of bad shooting habits came along for the ride.  The expertise of instruction helped crack the code.  No more bench for me!

Engineer Shooting, AdobeWallsofFla, Silver Bullet, Sean and Jim were all great.  Patient when needed and they knew just the right drill to help me exactly when I needed it.  And it 's hard to say which meant more to me, the new found shooting skills or the astounding stories of those fateful days in April 1775 delivered from the heart.

I know I spent the weekend with gentlemen who would have been there when their militia was called to preserve liberty.  I also know the Regulars would have gotten the bad end of that engagement.

A heartfelt thanks to you all and I hope to join you again soon.

Oh yeah, anybody need a couple of slightly used bolt guns?

HUZZAH! Boltin Barefoot has managed to deftly capture all that historic Georgia character, and such a good sport about it. We teased him, saying, Well gee, WWI was over about a hundred years ago. Technology and good design have moved on. Just saying. Meanwhile, get that trigger side elbow down on the mat where it belongs. :)  He applied himself well to a Rifleman's tasks, and has now joined a truly cozy brotherhood. No more cooking . . .
