Channing, MI October 4-5, 2014 AAR

First Apple Winterseed at a new host range, truckloads of enthusiasm, 5 new Riflemen/Riflewomen, more than enough wind/frozen and unfrozen precipitation in Michigan's beautiful UP for everyone and a fine group of Patriots who spent this glorious weekend honing their marksmanship skills while their Heritage was revisited and reaffirmed!

Thank you Sagola Township Sportsmens Club for hosting their first Appleseed at their beautiful facility. 

Thank you Tony our club contact whose promotional efforts enabled us to meet and become friends with the seventeen fine Americans who participated in this event. 

Thanks again to Tony and his wife who provided a delicious lunch for everyone on Saturday and Sunday 

And more thanks to Tony from the Appleseed instructors for the great accommodations provided us Friday and Saturday nights as well as Saturday dinner. 

Congratulations new Riflemen and Riflewomen... Tony 224, Dave 220, Katherine 213 (Age 11), Jay 223 (Age 16) and Syd 221 (Age 14). Those U.P. folks can shoot! 

Plenty of Rifleman potential shown by the rest of our students. Practice and persist and it will be yours. 

Thank you to my fellow instructors BugginOut, Privateer and weaslewoods for making our first visit to our MI neighbors the success that it was.  You guys are the best!

The guys from NW Wisconsin are some of the most professional instructors we have ever hosted.  We look forward to having them back next year for an even larger event.  Thank you to Mike, Don, Bubba, and Rob.  The local 4H club of shooters gained a lot of knowledge for upcoming competitions.  More importantly, EVERYONE learned about the heritage of our great country.  Stories like that should be required to be told in our history lessons at schools accross this great land.  Thank you for all you do not just for us but for our country.  Thank you.

Thank you Mike, Bubba, Dom, and Rob for coming to our part of the Great White North and freezing with the rest of us to put this Appleseed/Winterseed on. I'm already looking forward to next year!

I think you can see by the rain gear and all the wet guns there are no "fare weather patriots" in this neck of the woods.  We are really looking forward to an even larger shoot for next SUMMER.  It sounds like everyone in attendence wants to return.  You guys MUST be doing something right to have people shooting in standing water and freezing cold and still want to come back.  The stories of our country provided such an awakening that none of us noticed being cold and wet.  Our Founders were colder and wetter when they fought to give us this great land.  We have no business to complain.  Great work.  Great presentation on the history.

Just One More Thing............   (I can say that here can't I ?)   I would like to commend ALL the shooters and supportive family members that attended the Channing shoot come Hell (Frozen Over) or High Water (also frozen over).  Yours is the spirit that that makes this country and it's values worth fighting for.  A special note of thanks to my fellow instructors for the support, understanding and instruction you always show me.  I cannot forget the positive encouragement, physical and financial support that Taylor and his lovely wife provide to the Appleseed Program and his crew in making the Appleseed Mission a truly worthwhile cause.........    My heartfelt Thanks to you all............
