Graywolf

What a fantastic weekend at Sportsman's Club of Battle Creek!  The weather was absolutely perfect (aside from a little rain on Sunday morning.)  We had 5 shooters and an exceptional crew of instructors.  Everyone had fun and learned a lot about marksmanship and our heritage as Americans.  We even had a minor distraction with turtles crossing the range to lay eggs on the far side.  Not something you see very often at an event.

Kyle and Ian proved to be able marksman and though neither was able to break through and make the rifleman's score, both were knocking on the door.  Hang in there guys!  A rifleman persists.  Next time for sure.  Clida and Cameron returned for their 2nd Appleseed and continued to improve.  I have no doubt that they will get it done as well.  Macey, hang in there.  I was sure you were going to get it done as well.

Many thanks to the instructors and blue hats who volunteered their time and energy for this event.  You are all the best.

Now, as  :pics:, if you got 'em post 'em up.  Here are the few I have,

I have to agree with Graywolf...what a fabulous weekend!!

Kyle, Ian, Cam, Clida and Macey; I had a ball working with each of you.  Along with persistence I would encourage you to practice as often as you can.  Remember, use your steady hold factors, get your NPOA and then use the six steps to firing the shot.  The more your practice these things the more you will realize that it will become as natural as breathing.  They are the pillars to becoming a Rifleman.  I did not take any pictures so I hope someone else can add to the pic's that Graywolf posted.

See you all on the firing line again soon...

I really did enjoy what the instructors had to teach, both the history and in the ways of a Rifleman. I must say, I was sore Sunday night and Monday morning, but it was worth it and I will be doing it again sometime in the near future. First, I need to find some more 22LR ammo. Until then, I plan on practicing what I have learned when at the range and at home.
