A cool morning worked into a hot afternoon at Proactive Defense just north of Ft. Worth just off I35W and south of Denton.  As always, the range is great.

Big thanks to Kirk Wheeler, Tim Beatty, Heather Romero, Junior Romero, and Forrest Swonsen.

Marksmanship drastically improved from morning to evening.  We had 2 youth shooters who performed very well not only with safety but with marksmanship.  The employment of a plastic clip-on bipod helped out one kiddo in particular.  Groups at 25y were 10-12 inches before and 1 inch after using the bipod.  Shooter was very small in stature and the sling was just too challenging.  Shooter was getting great hits using the 6 steps all day, just needed a little help.

One shooter in particular showed up very prepared.  He was not new to firearms instruction and this was his first AS.  Had done his research.  Rifle was set up.  He powered through the POI's and by the end of the day could recite the 6 steps on queue. A personal POI helped him build his position with the support side elbow under the rifle.  Rolling into the position made the difference.  Exhibited a fantastic attitude and earned solid score for a Rifleman patch.

The team did a great job rolling with the flow.  We finished on time and with very strong positive feedback.
