How many people have cleaned the AQT? That's one of the things that drew me to rim fire sporter, easy enough for anyone to do well, but to this date no one has ever put up a perfect score. My personal best was a 245 in February with a Mossberg 144.

What's your best score and what is the highest score you've seen a student score?

Better yet, what's the largest IMPROVEMENT in score you've seen a student put up between the first and second day? Isn't that what we are about?

The best score I have ever seen a student do was 247 it was his first AQT. He spent the rest of the weekend trying for 250.
247 is my personal high also with semi auto, 242 with one round saved in sitting best bolt gun score.
I think misfit has done better.

I've done 300, wait that's bowling. Nope, still too high. Blood alcohol content? Nope, I'd be dead. Now I remember! That's my credit score!

Now that there's down right funny! LOL---- ;D
A moral compass provides a basis for making decisions; an action is good or bad, right or wrong when viewed in the light of the individual's moral bearing. If no moral compass exists for the individual, then decisions and actions are made on the basis of purely subjective thoughts. This leads to "If it makes me happy, or makes me feel good, or if it's something I simply want to do, then it is right and good."

I'd go back to working the corner to get my credit score back up to 300!

Rocket Man

We had a 250 in Piru a couple of years ago...  NRA High Power high master.  Most of his hits were not just 5's but actually in the "v".   :pop:  Inspiring, to say the least.

My best is a 243, scoped semi .270 that I've owned for 20 years and fits me better than my socks.  Hoping to top that one of these days with a new heavy-barrel .22.  The potential is there.  But frankly teaching is more important...

Best improvement I've ever seen, way back in my days as an Orange, we had an early Adaptive shooter named Nurse Flo.  Shot from her wheelchair and a table rest on the prone stages.  Her first AQT was a zero.  But she stuck with it.  By the end of the weekend she was in the 170's, consistently.  ..:..

We had a student at Hat Creek drop 2 points in standing because he forgot to put on his sling.  Score 248.

Ramblin' Wreck

We had a young man just out of college at a shoot in Dublin Georgia two years ago who shot 248 on his first AQT. I said "you've shot before." He had, he was a competitive .22 or air rifle shooter with a full ride to college. I joked that the bad news about shooting that well was that there was so little room for improvement. Next round he shot 249. I left him alone.  ;D  I thought of asking him for help with my standing.

My highest score was back in July 2007 at my first Appleseed (a one-day event) on the second AQT... I got a 245.  It was with a borrowed 10/22 with a 2.5x scope.  It was the result of a wave of euphoria brought on by the discovery of NPOA. ;D  So far that's the highest score I've seen.
"Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."

The Tennessee State Coordinator has a custom built Ruger 10/22 he's been trying to award for 2 years to the first shooter who qualifies with a perfect score on the AQT using a 10/22. Rifle was built by Fedderson barrels and is fantastic. Closest anyone has come yet is a 245.

I've shot a 250, but sadly it was at home on my practice range. I celebrate the change in seasons and daylight savings time because at the end of the day there is still enough light for me to hang a couple of targets and get some zen time. There have been a few high 240s as well, but I typically shoot about 235 on the short range with rimfire.

Hop

What's the highest KD score you've seen?  I've done a 37/40 but have seen several 38/40.  I don't think a clean 40/40 would be too hard but I haven't seen one yet.

Kosciusko

personally, 242 - I was alone and using a timer

I've seen shooters do 240's, highest was a 248, USMC trained, , and longtime CMP competitor, tried Appleseed as a challenge, thought stages 2 & 3 were pretty tough

This is AMAZING to hear!!! I'm so glad to be a part of the program and get out to teaching! I want to get a student from 0 to 170s in a weekend! I come from a professional shooting background and used to teach high school. Not only am I interested in teaching the students, but learning from all of you as well!

NomadicHillbilly  has shot 250, I believe.

Best score I've ever shot was 240. But it's not the score I'm proudest of.  On my first AQT at my first Appleseed, I shot a 212 -- in the midst of a driving Florida storm so intense the targets were blowing out to 45 degrees. I was SO in the groove....

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

Personal best is currently a 243 using my Anschutz 1416, scoped with a Leopold 3-9x EFR.

I'm planning on attending 2 more Appleseeds this year. I love the whole experience, the news shooters, great history, but I'm also focused on going higher.

We once had a high-power shooter on the line with an AR-15 that shot 248 on his first AQT and 250 on his second.

I've shot a couple of 248s, but that was at an indoor range - I was shooting AQTs against a kitchen timer at the range near my house after work every Wednesday for a year or so, got to where I was routinely in the 240s, but never quite touched 250.  Transitions kept slapping me.

One of the students at our inaugural event at Berwyn Rod and Gun Club in Bowie, MD, shot 236 using iron sights. It's the highest score I've witnessed so far.

Shot a 247 Ina foot of snow at Hubertus with a nice scoped 10/22, and the -3 was my fault.  Haven't managed that 250 yet, but I don't get to shoot too many AQTs anymore.

Best improvement.... This weekend we had a student whose groups barely stayed on the 8x11 sheet of squares on Saturday morning.  The rifle came to the range in its box with protective wrap still on it.  Needless to say he had zero experience prior to this weekend.  Saturday was a long and hard say for him as the instruction was all new and slightly overwhelming to the newcomer.  However he had the spirit of a rifleman and persisted.  Sunday he got 1-on-1 instruction for nearly the whole day and by 4:00 the man was shooting 5 MOA groups.   Loved the smile he flashed when he brought back his last target.  He will be back in June  :cool2:

I'll see your snow, and raise you a month after back surgery! Lol! I was so happy to get out on the range though.  It was worth the nearly two days of being unable to walk after that day though and the nearly 15-20 painkillers a day. I have been practicing, but transitioning still hurts way too much, and I lose my balance too easily just getting down into position.

Sage advice: don't break your back! It destroys your scores!

I shot a 243 at a Danville Winterseed.  Templer223 borrowed my rifle the next AQT and shot 244.  For a long time I felt my rifle had been unfaithful and I contemplated separation.  We have reconciled.

I wasn't sure where to put it, but thought the AAR would be appropriate since it was about scores and improvements over the shoot. Feel free to move it if it doesn't belong here, no hard feelings.
