The second Ladyseed at the A.W.S.M. range started off Saturday morning with three eager ladies who had little to no experience in shooting a rifle but were ready and willing to learn.

DAR_Patriot gave them the morning Safety Briefing and off to the line to take down a Redcoat. Ratchett and I ran the ladies through the Positions, Slings, 6 Steps, and NPOA. The ladies made instructing fun and easy, even picking up on IMC after the first example!  Thank you!

Ratchett, it was a treat to hear you give the Three Strikes. I know the ladies enjoyed it as much as I did.

Enter Sunday, the morning greeted us with rolling thunder, pouring rain and not to forget the 35 degree drop in temperature to the 40s, but the ladies persevered and showed up on time ready to hit the ground running.  The morning started with a Quick and Dirty review of the Safety Rules, Safe Rifles, Positions, Slings, Six Steps to Firing a Shot and NPOA.  Although no one scored Rifleman this weekend all of the ladies showed dramatic improvement in their groupings and marksmanship skills.  We can't wait to see you on the line again.

Chris, you showed amazing patience taking the time to make sure you understood each step of NPOA and positioning.  Your groups on the NPOA drill at the end of Sunday were a beautiful thing to see.  Keep practicing.

Candace, you ran a lever-action like no one I have seen on the line before.  Not once did you break position and you were willing to use our make-shift speed loader made out of a straw!

Meg, your groupings improved all weekend.  Continue to practice and the Rifleman patch will be yours at the next shoot.

DAR_Patriot thanks for working the line on Saturday and we can't wait to hear how the wreath laying event at Kings Mountain went on Sunday.

Ratchett, thank you for driving in from Ohio and spending the weekend with us.

Thank you to Crystal at A.W.S.M. for opening your range to us.
